ROCKVIEW, MO – A 75-car BNSF train carrying scrap metal was broadsided by a Union Pacific train hauling auto parts at a rail intersection in Rockview, MO on May 25, 2013. The accident injured two railroad workers and several motorists. Rockview is located in Scott County, MO in the southeastern part of the state about 126 miles southeast of St. Louis.

CHARLES CITY, IA – Three railroad workers had to be rescued on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 after five rail cars of a Canadian Pacific train derailed just east of Charles City, IA. The city of Charles City is located in Floyd County, Iowa in the northern part of the state about 104 miles northwest of Cedar Rapids.

BRIDGEPORT, CT. — Two metro trains traveling in opposite directions on May 17, collided in Bridgeport, CT. The crash involved about 700 passengers, injuring dozens of people, including one person who remains hospitalized in critical condition.

CHICAGO, Ill. — The Chicago Tribune reported that the Brown and Red line trains are running again but with delays, after a car derailed on the Red Line near Armitage Avenue on Thursday, May 9, halting trains and sending at least one person to the hospital.

A passenger car on the CTA Red Line in Chicago, IL jumped the tracks on May 9 2013. One passenger had to be rescued by the Chicago Fire Department using an elevated bucket.

MONROE, N.C. — A CSX train crash involving 5 vehicles and a semi truck on Tuesday, April 30, shut down Old Charlotte Highway and Rocky River Road in Monroe N.C. for hours.

A CSX train plowed into a semi truck that was stopped on the tracks at a rail crossing in Monroe, NC on April 30, 2013 and spilled a load of PVC pipe all over the surrounding area.
