PAULSBORO, N.J. — An 84-car Conrail freight train carrying hazardous chemicals derailed Friday morning, Nov 30, after an old-style swing rail bridge collapsed sending the railcars into Mantua Creek below and releasing toxic chemicals into the air.

MIDLAND, Texas — A Union Pacific train crashed into a parade float carrying wounded veterans and their families killing four servicemen two of whom saved their wives by pushing them to safety before they died.

Four veterans were killed in a horrific train accident in Midland, TX on November 16, 2012 when a float they were riding in was hit by a Union Pacific freight train while the float was crossing the tracks during a parade.

MACON, Ga. — Authorities report that an autopsy will be conducted on a Norfolk Southern railroad worker who died in a fall from a parked train in Macon, Georgia on Mon. Nov 12.

CHICAGO, Ill. — Two railroad workers were injured when an Orange Line train derailed early Friday in the Chicago Transit Authority train yard near Midway Airport. The media reports that the train jumped the tracks just before as it was pulling into the rail yard.

LOUISVILLE, KY — Officials with the Louisville Metro Emergency Management Agency told the media that a fire broke out and injured five contractors working on a derailed train car containing a highly flammable chemical.

Five contractors were injured, one of them critically, in the cleanup of a train derailment where a hot torch ignited a fire and caused the evacuation of residents in the nearby community of West Point, KY due to the presence of dangerous chemicals.
