LONGVIEW, TX – Two rail tankers, containing hazardous material, jumped the tracks and overturned, causing a spill after a BNSF train derailed in Longview, TX. The city of Longview is located in Gregg County, (and partly in Harrison County) in the eastern part of the state.

HOUSTON, TX. — Myrta Fariza, a Clear Lake woman who died from injuries in last month’s horrific train derailment in Spain, was laid to rest and remembered with a funeral mass on Weds., August 14, at Saint Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Nassau Bay.

LAWTELL, LA – A Union Pacific train carrying hazardous materials derailed in Lawtell, LA causing hundreds of people to be evacuated from their homes. Lawtell is located in St. Landry Parish, Louisiana in the central part of the state about 69 miles west of Baton Rouge.

BALTIMORE, MD – A CSX train, traveling from North Carolina to New York, derailed on July 28, in Baltimore, MD interrupting MARC commuter rail service on the Camden line, causing traffic delays for motorists.

BRONX, NY – A trash train derailed in the Bronx, NY on Thursday, July 18, 2013 and tied up commuter rail travel on the Metro-North Hudson line through the weekend. The Bronx is a borough of New York City, NY located north of Manhattan and across the Hudson River from New Jersey.

HOUSTON, TX – Residents in the area of Oldham St and Sherman St in East Houston, TX had to be evacuated following a Union Pacific Train Derailment on June 30, 2013.
CASTRO COUNTY, Texas -— According to the BNSF spokesman, Joe Faust, strong winds were cited as the cause of more than 40 BNSF Railway cars derailing in Castro County, located in the Texas Panhandle.
ROSEDALE, Md. — The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) released a preliminary report on Wednesday, June 12, in the fiery CSX train derailment that occurred in Rosedale on May 28, when a trash truck and train collided. In their report, the NTSB revealed the crossing where the train collided with a truck gave almost no warning for drivers; the stop signs were barely visible.
WHEATLAND, NY – Several cars of a Rochester & Southern train derailed in Wheatland, NY on June 3, 2013 spilling tons of road salt only a few hundred yards from Oatka Creek. Wheatland is located in Monroe County, NY in the northern central part of the state about 99 miles west of Syracuse. Monroe County borders Lake Ontario on the Canadian border.

ROSEDALE, MD – A CSX train, carrying chemicals, ran into a trash truck in Rosedale, MD and then derailed and exploded causing a shock wave that sent a huge plume of black smoke into the sky. Rosedale is located in Baltimore County, MD in the northern part of the state about 6 miles northeast of Baltimore.
