WASHINGTON – In the case of CSX TRANSPORTATION, INC. v. MCBRIDE, 10-235, a ruling was handed down today by the U.S. Supreme Court against CSX Railroad in their bid to make it harder for railroad workers to win lawsuits that would hold the company responsible for injuries they suffered on the job.

FAYETTE COUNTY, WV – A CSX five car coal train derailed Thursday March 3 around 8:45 a.m. near Springdale WV closing a section of Route 20. Springdale is located in Fayette County about 7 miles from Wheeling.

Authorities with the Fayette County Emergency Operations Center told the media that the train did not flip over, and no injuries were reported.

Route 20 was re-opened late Thursday night, but authorities were still working on getting the train back on its tracks.

The cause of the incident remains under investigation.
