MILLCREEK TOWNSHIP, PA – Four CSX rail cars full of construction debris derailed in Millcreek Township, PA on November 1, causing traffic delays at several intersections. Millcreek Township is located in Erie County, Pennsylvania in the northwestern corner of the state about 122 miles north of Pittsburgh.
BRADNER, OH – Three CSX railroad employees were injured at a rail crossing just south of Bradner, OH on October 28, when a motorist drove around construction barriers and hit a utility pole and then ran into the workers. Bradner is located in Wood County, Ohio in the northeastern part of the state about 30.4 miles southeast of Toledo.
HENDERSON COUNTY, KY – A semi truck driver was killed in Henderson County, KY on October 9, after a CSX train crashed into his big rig as the trucker was crossing the tracks. Henderson County is located in the northwest on the border with Evansville, Illinois.
COURTLAND, VA – Two railroad workers were injured on September 19, in a fiery CSX train derailment in Courtland, VA. after 9 rail cars and 2 locomotives from a 41 car CSX train jumped the tracks. Diesel fuel from a punctured tank created a large fuel spill which ignited and burst into flames. An engineer & a conductor in one of the locomotives became trapped in a tangle of rail cars and had to be rescued by emergency crews at the scene.
RUSHVILLE, IN – A pickup truck collided with a CSX train, seriously injuring two motorists in Rushville, IN on August 16, 2013. Rushville is located in Rush County in the east-central part of the state about 45 miles southeast of Indianapolis.
FAYETTEVILLE, NC – A CSX train derailed in Fayetteville, NC on July 31 causing 4 rail cars of a 10-car train to jump the tracks. None of the derailed cars overturned. Fayetteville is located in Cumberland County, North Carolina in the south-central part of the state about 65 miles southwest of Raleigh and about 89 miles northwest of Wilmington, NC.
BALTIMORE, MD – A CSX train, traveling from North Carolina to New York, derailed on July 28, in Baltimore, MD interrupting MARC commuter rail service on the Camden line, causing traffic delays for motorists.
PORT OF TAMPA, Fla. — Tampa Bay firefighters used foam to clean up ethanol that leaked from three rail cars after an 81-car CSX train derailed at Florida’s Port of Tampa. Hazmat-trained firefighters have laid a coating of foam on top of the spill to keep it from catching fire. Equipment is being transported from Atlanta to upright the toppled railroad cars.
HAMILTON, OH – A CSX train derailed in Hamilton, OH on July 5, 2013 causing some traffic delays. Hamilton is located in Butler County, Ohio in the southwestern part of the state, about 35 miles north of Cincinnati.
FONDA, NY – At least one railroad worker was reported injured after two CSX trains collided in Fonda, NY derailing several rail cars and badly damaging one of the trains. Fonda is a village in Montgomery County in central New York state about a mile from the village of Fultonville and about 46 miles northwest of Albany.
