Railroad Workers Injured After Tracks They Were Working On Struck by Lightning

HEADINGLEY, CN. — Two Canadian Pacific railroad workers were injured and taken to a local hospital after the CP tracks they were working on were struck by lightning. The city of Headingley is located about 13 miles west of Winnepeg.

CBC News reports that the incident occurred on Sunday, August 18, at 10:30 a.m. in Headingley, just west of Winnipeg, where crews were repairing rail lines.

Both of the workers were treated at the hospital. One man was released soon after treatment and one was kept on for further observation as a precaution.
