WEST HAVEN, CT — A railroad worker was killed on May 28, 2013 by a southbound commuter train while working on the tracks near the Metro-North station in West Haven.

The railroad worker was identified as 52 year-old Robert Luden, from East Haven, CT, who had been employed by Metro-North for 27 years.

The accident happened around 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 only a few miles out from the station in New Haven. The train had left the station in New Haven at 11:53 a.m. and was heading towards Grand Central station in New York when the accident occurred.

The West Haven station was under construction at the time and was nearly finished.

The incident remains under investigation at this time.
