INDIANAPOLIS — WishTV.com reported that a CSX train has derailed early Wednesday morning, Jan. 23, on the west side of Indianapolis.


Officials said that the accident occurred just before 6 a.m. Wednesday morning, near Country Club Road and Rockville Road.

Wayne Township Fire crews arrived on the scene after a call came in indicating that a rail car wheel had caught fire, hoever, fire crews say they don’t believe anything has spilled or leaked.

Wayne Township Fire Capt. Mike Pruitt told 24-Hour News 8 that 18 rail cars derailed and that all of the rail cars were still upright.

Fire crews say they don’t believe anything has spilled or leaked.

No injuries were reported at the time of the accident.

The incident remains under investigation at this time.
