LITTLE FALLS, N.Y. — A CSX train traveling from Crestline, Ohio to Albany derailed on Thursday morning, January 10, in Little Falls, New York.
According to Assistant Chief Bill Dodge, the derailment occurred shortly after 7:30 a.m. Thursday morning, Jan, 10, at the intersection state Route 5 and Ashe Road after a wheel broke from one of the cars carrying grain.
A CSX official told the media that the train carrying grain went off the tracks in Little Falls. The official said that although there were two locomotives and 88 freight cars involved in the accident, only one car derailed.
No injuries were reported at the time of the accident.
The incident remains under investigation at this time.
