GRAND ISLAND, NE – CXT Concrete Ties, located in Grand Island, Nebraska, is shutting down and moving operations to Washington State and Arizona.
Union Pacific says it couldn’t reach an agreement with CXT over contract negotiations so nearly 70 railroad tie workers are losing their jobs.
According to KHAS-TV:
CXT is phasing out the job cuts over the next six months and moving its equipment from the plant to its two other facilities in Washington State and Arizona.
CXT is a subsidiary of L.B. Foster Company based in Spokane, Washington.
