BROWNWOOD, TX – Traffic was stopped on Sunday, October 24 in Brownwood, Texas after a train derailed at the railroad crossing at Main and 4th Streets.

Brownwood is in Brown County, Texas in the central part of the state about 186 miles northwest of San Antonio.

The road remained blocked for most of the day after a partial train derailment downtown.

The northbound feeder road of Highway 377 below the Truman Harlow Overpass was blocked after two rail cars jumped the tracks.

The cause of the mishap was not available.

There were no reports of injuries to railroad workers or anyone else.

As of Sunday night, crews worked to put the cars back on the track, but the two railroad cars were still blocking the road at that time.
